I loved leading people! I loved helping organizations increase employee engagement and retention AND boost their business profitability. I was making good money and working in great roles, so you're probably wondering, "Val... why did you ever leave?"
Simplest answer: I hit my version of "rock bottom".
Picture me on the bathroom floor during Sunday church service in a panic attack over how much there was to "do". Or literally waving goodbye to my husband as our two planes passed in the night. (I logged more work airline miles than him that year... and he's a pilot.) Standing on the scale staring at 20 new pounds feeling like a complete imposter for trying to lead others well when I wasn't leading a life of wellness myself.
